Pastyme Players is an early music ensemble devoted to performing the elegant and enchanting music of the Renaissance. Although of a specific period of European history, the group believes that the music need not be reserved for events of historic reproduction, but can sit comfortably within a large range of formal and informal settings wherever people gather and a unique atmosphere is desired.
Each member of the Pastyme Players is an experienced professional performer, with combined skills covering the formal concert platform, ‘Background’ playing for social and business functions and commercial tours of musical theatre productions. The instrumentation comprises: Early Woodwinds, Renaissance Lute and Bass Viol.
The Pastyme Players are much in demand, performing throughout the South in castles, country houses, baronial halls and hotels for banquets, weddings, receptions etc. and recently played for the opening of the Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition at the Natural History Museum in London.
