Wilderness are a solid Vocal/Instrumental trio playing Irish Music with a passion that can only come from a true love of Celtic music and culture. Wilderness have taken traditional folk songs from as long ago as the 1700's and transformed them into modern Irish Folk/Folk-Rock pieces. To try and pigeon hole this trio could be a problem, as their style seems to appeal to Traditionalists and Contemporary folk devotees alike, without mentioning the fact that they play folk music in a rock style.
Wilderness play to real Irish crowds and non Irish alike, with the same results. Their influences come from a wide variety of backgrounds and lifestyles ranging from Scottish folk to Heavy Metal and from Country to Classical going through Folk, Swing, Blues and Punk on the way.They play songs from artists such as The Pogues, The Dubliners, The Clancy Brothers, Goats Don't Shave, Christy Moore, The Saw Doctors and The Waterboys along with a good mixture of traditional songs interspersed with some of their own material.
