The Alani String Quartet
The Alani String Quartet is a vibrant and young professional string quartet based in Bournemouth, Dorset. They regularly perform in concert, and have worked with funding through the Arts Council of England. The quartet have given numerous performances in established recital series in Dorset, as well as many churches, theatres and festivals in the south of England. As of September 2008 they became 'string quartet in residence' at Ballard School, New Milton, and enjoy working with the school in performance and educational workshops.
In 2007 they recorded backing tracks for adverts which were broadcast on national TV in The Netherlands and Germany, and in early 2008 were invited onto local radio to give our first interview about the string quartet.
As individuals, members of the quartet have attended Guildhall School of Music and Trinity College of Music in London, and have played with orchestras such as the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, Brandenburg Sinfonia, The English National Baroque Orchestra, and the Auckland Chamber Orchestra, New Zealand. Artists worked with include George Michael, Jamiroquai, Neil Diamond, Morrissey etc.
The quartet is available for concerts, weddings and other private events.
Weddings
The Alani string quartet play for lots of weddings and can help with music choices, timings and give general advice on how the music for the wedding can work. They have a sizeable library of music which caters for everything from Bach to Bernstein to accommodate most tastes, and if you have a particular favourite piece of music not within their repertoire, this can be arranged for quartet for a small fee.
