The Phoenix Quartet, formed in 1979, are four professional musicians who between them have worked with orchestras such as The London Symphony Orchestra, The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and The BBC Symphony Orchestra. They have also performed in various West End showsincluding Evita, Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Sunset Boulevard and with singers such as Elton John, Cliff Richard and Diana Ross.
They have blended their classical training with a passion for popular melodies of all ages and the result is as delightful as it is distinctive. it is little wonder, therefore, that the quartet have established themselves as firm favourites amongst a prestigious and loyal group of clients.
The Phoenix Quartet have a wide selection of music in their repertoire, over 200 pieces (well over twelve hours' playing time), so there should be something for everyone! The selection ranges from popular classics such as Pachelbel's Canon, Vivaldi Four seasons, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Gilbert & Sullivan, through to the syncopated Rags of Scott Joplin and the show tunes of Irving Berlin, Gershwin, Jerome Kern and Cole Porter.
Then there are the Pop Standards of the Beatles and Queen, as well as Film themes such as Mission Impossible, The Dambusters and The Magnificent Seven, and TV themes such as Upstairs Downstairs, Dad's Army, and even Fawlty Towers! However, if you have a favourite piece not in the repertoire, given sufficient notice, they will do their best to write out a quartet arrangement of it specially for you.
The Phoenix Quartet specialise in Corporate Events such as company dinners, conferences, banquets and product launches. they also play for weddings, balls, parties and receptions.
