David Buckingham studied classical guitar with renowned tutor Luigi Palumbo for 3 years and is now an international guitar star.

After studying with Luigi Palumbo David then went to further his studies in Seville, the capital of flamenco with guitarists such as Fran Cortes, Miguel Angel Cortes and Manuel Berraquero. David still studies the accompaniment of Cante and Baile in Seville.

David Buckingham has played at the Royal opera House with Carlos Acosta and also appeared with Lesley Garrett and the Gypsy Kings. He has recorded at Abbey Road Studios and been a part of many successful West End theatre shows and in particular ‘Zorro the Musical’ which went on to play in Paris, Moscow, Amsterdam, Tokyo and Salt Lake City. Other international work has taken him to Ireland, Denmark, Holland, Spain Germany and France with shows such as Fame, Sisters of Soul, Carmen, and West Side Story.

David’s playing is ideal for weddings, whether creating an idyllic atmosphere as the guests are being seated for the ceremony, accompanying the Bride along the aisle for her processional or providing beautiful background music during the drinks and canapes or wedding breakfast.

David plays a mixture of styles drawing from traditional classical Spanish repertoire, well-known pop songs arranged for solo guitar to traditional and modern flamenco.
