Hire Dixieland Bands from Fantasia Music – the UK’s best company for booking professional Jazz Bands
Dixieland Jazz has it’s origins in New Orleans USA where the first bands appeared in the early 1900’s. Everyone knows music from this era with famous tunes such as ‘When the Saints Go Marching In’ and ‘Basin Street Blues’ etc. and just about everyone has heard of it’s greatest exponent in trumpeter Louis Armstrong.
Dixieland Bands are characterised by that special sound of a lead instrument, usually a trumpet playing the tune while other instruments of Clarinet and Trombone improvise around it. The rest of the band is a rhythm section which is usually Banjo, Sousaphone or Bass then Piano and Drums. Other versions of Dixieland Bands do not have piano or drums particularly when strolling and so this style of Jazz Band varies in size and instrumentation.
Dixieland Bands are great for all kinds of events when an uplifting atmosphere is required such as parties, garden parties, drinks receptions and fetes.
