Formed in 2001 to provide a fresh and exciting approach to live music entertainment, Funky lipstik is the cream of a new and funky breed of covers bands. All the musicians have chart pedigree - every band member has either charted or played and sung with big names in rock and pop live and in the studio.Funky lipstik play the classics in the swing, soul, rock and disco genres such as I Want You Back by The Jackson 5, but they also excel at playing current 'future classics' like You've Got The Love by Florence and the Machine, Valerie by Amy Winehouse, Take Your Mama Out by The Scissor Sisters and Lolas Theme by Shapeshifters. This is a band who can mix a wide variety of styles absolutely seamlessly.
Funky lipstik's live show, combining energy and attitude with professionalism has quickly made them one of the most talked about bands on the scene, and has spawned a number of imitators. They add a smart and sexy cutting edge to the songs in their repertoire. Funky Lipstik are also happy to learn a new track especially for a client if they have a favourite that isn't on the list.
Since their debut engagement in Monte Carlo, demand for Funky lipstik has taken them to Paris, Barcelona, Marrakesh, Barbados, Las Vegas and all over the UK.
The band has been booked for private and corporate engagements in nearly every major London venue including The Dorchester, The Grosvenor, Claridges, The Savoy, Café de Paris, Café Royale, The Park Lane Intercontinental, China White's, Atlantic Bar, Elysium and The London Guildhall.
Individually, the band's musicians have worked with such artists as Boyzone, Enrique Iglesias, Robbie Williams, Beverley Knight, George Michael, Texas, Craig David, Liberty X, The Pet Shop Boys, Natalie Imbruglia, Louise, Gareth Gates, Victoria Beckham, All Saints, Mark Owen, Kyile Minogue, Hot Chocolate, Gary Numan, Boy George, Paul Carrack and ABC.
