Glenn Macnamara – one of the UK’s finest swing singers.
From a young age he immersed himself in the music of Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Chet Baker among many others and that exposure to some of the worlds greatest musicians along with hard work and hundreds of gigs now under his belt has produced an outstanding vocal talent.
Glenn Macnamara has performed with many of the country’s big bands and just about every other possible musical combination. He has performed for the Queen and the Duke & Duchess of Wessex at Hapton Court Palace and supported Jamie Cullum, Billie Ocean.
Glenn has performed all over the world as a jazz soloist, at many jazz festivals, notably The Alexis in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, worked in Italy with Lino Patruno, (Frank Sinatra’s Guitarist) and worked with Shirley Bassie’s pianist at The 606 Club, London. Glenn was fortunate to be asked to perform the role of Chet Baker as part of the London Jazz Festival at The 606 Jazz Club in Chelsea.
He was guest artist at The PPI Music and Radio Awards in Dublin and has appeared regularly on Radio. From 2010-2013 Glenn has been a headline act for Royal Caribbean Cruises with a show entitled ‘The Rat Pack Returns’
Glenn Macnamara specialises in ‘The Kings of Swing’ – Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Tony Bennett, Harry Connick Jr and Michael Buble but offers something for everyone with high energy arrangements ideal to fill any dance floor.
Glenn Macnamara is at his best in front of a live band and options for this work well from a 7-piece upwards. Glenn works a lot with the excellent Denmark Street Big Band based in London with whom he appears for concerts, weddings, parties and corporate work.
