The String of Pearls Orchestra
The String of Pearls Orchestra features some of the finest jazz musicians in the UK and is one of the most in demand bands of it's kind. The orchestra is Led by trombonist Chris Smith, who has played with stars such as the legendary Frank Sinatra, Liza Minelli, Sammy Davis Junior, Shirley Bassey, Barbra Streisand, Jack Jones, Tony Bennett, Tom Jones, Diana Ross, Lulu and many more.
The String of Pearls Orchestra and Singers feature the sounds of Glenn Miller and other favourites from the Big Band Era, plus the memorable and enchanting songs of the great Frank Sinatra. The orchestra is fast growing in popularity with their strength being in the ability to move with the times to perform music through the decades from The Glenn Miller Sound through to James Last and on to Whitney Houston and the chart hits of recent years.
The band offer a number of options, whether it be for a theatre show, corporate function or a party. A Sinatra tribute show is available, also a journey through the 'Big Band' classics from Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey etc. They can also be a great party band, performing a wide range of hits from Glenn Miller, Frank Sinatra, through the swinging 60's with James Last, The Blues Brothers and up to today's pop hits
The band is 16-piece strong and includes three singers (one male and two female). They perform throughout the U.K. for corporate events, conferences, wedding receptions and in concert.
