The Syd Lawrence Orchestra boasts a collection of the finest Big Band musicians to be found playing together anywhere in the world. Collectively they have over six hundred years playing experience gained from performing some of the most demanding and rewarding musical arrangements any self respecting musician could ever wish to perform.
Now in its thirteenth year of continual touring, The Syd Lawrence Orchestra is renowned the world over as the premier touring Big Band, second to none in it's faithful recreation of those magical sounds of the bands of yesteryear, the orchestra continues to break new ground by taking the music further afield and still attracting audiences of all ages. And with a world wide registered support base numbering into the thousands, together with week long conventions held exclusively for the satisfaction of Big Band enthusiasts, the demand for performances by this orchestra is as great today as ever.
It is thirty years since The Syd Lawrence Orchestra was formed and now, under the directorship of trombonist Chris Dean the orchestra are well positioned to carry the popularity of the big band sound to audiences the world over for many years to come.
