The Fat Cats have become something of a unique phenomena among new British bands.Despite their tender years, The Fat Cats have taken it upon themselves to adopt the music they love for the 40's and 50's jump-blues and jive era and transform it into something fresh, new and exciting. A Fat Cats' show is a riotous celebration of fine musicianship and energy. The Fat Cats swing. Hard. Their songs range from the anthemic to the down right silly leaving audiences secure in the knowledge that they taketheir songwriting more seriously than they take themselves.
They have gigged extensively across the UK in all manner of venues and festivals, headlining at The Cork Guinness Jazz and the Marlborough Jazz festivals for the last two year running. They are regulars at London's 100 Club and have sold out Ronnie Scotts in Birmingham twice - no mean feat for an unsigned band.
Their first release "Bring on the Boogie" has now sold out and the initial limited edition of their new 7 track CD have all been snapped up too. They have appeared on Radio on numerous occasions and are providing the soundtrack to a new independent dance video.
