This cooking 5-piece combo delivers a unique and diverse contemporary Jazz sound. The material is drawn from many sources and utilises the individual expertise of each band member. 'The Big Idea' is rapidly gaining recognition on the British Jazz scene, having opened The West Wales Jazz Festival in 1996, '97 & '98, playing two extremely successful runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and appearing at many prestigious venues in and around London, including The Jazz Cafe, The Royal Festival Hall Foyer, The Barbican Centre, The Chicken Shed Theatre and Jagz in Ascot. The band also has a monthly residency at The Bulls Head Barnes, London.

The bands debut CD 'What's The Big Idea', has received excellent critical acclaim in the press and has had airplay on nationwide radio stations, including Jazz FM and Moray Fifth Radio, where it was CD of the month.
