Max Collie Rhythm Aces
Formed back in the sixties by Max Collie, the band has had fewer personnel changes than any other professional band in existence today. A string of highly successful record albums and countless radio and TV appearences all over the world, testify to the fact that they are undoubtedly the leading traditional jazz band in the world today.
Apart from a regular series of theatre presentations all over the U.K., they have appeared at over 3000 major festivals from New Orleans and Los Angeles to Antibes and The North Sea Festival. They have played on Ö Bourbon Street and at Heritage Hall in New Orleans, done better business than the legendary Turk Murphy in his own club - Earthquake McGoons in San Francisco, performed with President Jimmy Carter on U.S. television and at The Queen's Silver Jubilee in London. On their last U.S. tour they beat the cream of North American musicians to become the World Champions of New Orleans Jazz in Indianapolis USA. The band is a six-piece and features: Max Collie-Trombone/Vocals, Emile Martin-Drums, Denny Ilett-Trumpet, Count John McCormick-Bass, Gabe Essian-Clarinet/Vocals, David Bashford-Banjo/Vocals. |
