Anthony (Tony) Adams and his band pay homage to the man and his music through the songs that he recorded in a long and illustrious career that spanned six decades.
From 1979 to 1981 Anthony (Tony) was bass player/vocalist with an EMI signed band called 'Metro'. He made two albums with them and toured extensively all over Europe. During a tour of Germany, on a rare night off, Tony got up to sing with a trio at the 'Blue Note Jazz Club' in Berlin. He only knew the words to the Frank Sinatra version of 'Let's Get Away From It All' but it worked and on returning to England Tony sought out a band playing the music of Nelson Riddle and Frank Sinatra. In 1986 he joined the Dave Masters Big Band and spent the next 10 years singing classic Sinatra standards up and down the country.
In 2006 Anthony formed Simply Sinatra and enjoyed the challenge of performing the music of Sinatra with just a small band.
'We've taken it back to the bare bones, a singer in front of a trio is where it all began and there's no place to hide. We're not a 'lookalike' or tribute show and the band can play it how they feel, its more rewarding for you and for us and I'm sure Frank would like it that way'
In 2008 Anthony hit our TV screens as The One And Only Frank Sinatra. The reaction to his performances on the show from the British public has meant that he is now in great demand. Anthony has now begun a busy schedule of concerts and appearances throughout the UK and beyond.
Anthony (Tony) Adams & Simply Sinatra is now available in Big Band format early 2008 to echo Sinatra's performances with The Nelson Riddle Orchestra. This line-up is for larger events, festivals and concerts etc. Other options available include band including brass section, quartet and playback.
THE NELSON RIDDLE ORCHESTRA played a concert in Bournemouth on 1st March and Anthony was invited to meet Christopher Riddle (Nelson Riddles son) who is leading the orchestra on a UK tour. Anthony had a photo shoot with the orchestra and sang with them during rehearsal.
