Sloane Square Syncopators

Founded in 1987 at The Royal Academy of Music by Michael Diprose, the Sloane Square Syncopators are an exciting young band dedicated to the authentic reproduction of 1920s Jazz and Dance music. In 1990 after a roaringly successful time at college, the band turned professional.

The Sloane Square Syncopators play only the music of the 1920s for two main reasons: first, the music contains a great vitality, subtlety and humour largely absent from succeeding decades; by concentrating on one specific style, the band can ensure the greatest possible authenticity and quality. Second, they really rather like the way it sounds!

The band have played concerts on Londons' South Bank, appear regularly at society functions at venues such as The Waldorf Hotel and The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden and have played for corporate promotions at Hays Galleria and Canary Wharf. They also often appear at many University Summer Balls throughout the season.

The Sloane Square Syncopators is an 8-piece orchestra.
