Expresion Cubana is an eleven piece band led by Cuban flautist/vocalist Kico Cowan, an experienced musician who has worked with a host of Cuban heavyweights such as Lagrimas Negras, La 440 with Bobby Carcasses, Beatriz Marquez, Buen Dia Havana (world tour) and Los Incas. The band features an international line-up playing exciting Salsa and Latin Jazz. The instrumentation is Vocals/Flute, Bass,Guitar, Piano, Congas, Drums/Timbales, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Trombone and two Trumpets.
Expresion Cubana have appeared at The Royal Festival Hall as part of the Summer 'Blazing' feature, The Barbican Centre, The Hanover Square Jazz Festival and played for the BBC Worldwide Conference.
Also available is a seven piece called Assokere, a seven piece, with a repertoire of Cuban Son and Latin jazz.
