Flame.co were formed in 1999 to demonstrate the amazing cultural diversity, humanity and vitality of the flamenco tradition. The band are 5-10 performers of the highest calibre, who's work celebrates flamenco's origins, themes and codes, but also reflects its individual backgrounds and influences. Flame.co aim to recreate the spontaneity, intensity and intimacy of a traditional flamenco performance, but also experiment with new media and develop original material
Flame.co have toured the UK extensively, and have performed at The ICA, Sadlers Wells and Glastonbury Festival. They have worked with DJs, VJs, Indian folk dancers, pop acts, jazz bands and countless other flamenco artists. Work in progress includes their own multi-media dance production and research project, as well as continuing to study of flamenco in all its forms.
Flame.co compose, perform and produce Flamenco music, song and dance. They offer cabaret shows, concerts, dance-theatre, workshops, tutorials and presentations as well as designing their own postcards, posters, visuals, soundtracks and costumes, which can be customised for a specific project or event.
