The Scintillo String quartet is a professional string quartet based in Suffolk.

Performing primarily in Suffolk, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Essex and London, the quartet are renowned for their live performances and professionalism, playing for weddings, receptions, parties and corporate work.

The background of these musicians is impressive with experience of playing with English Serenata, Academy of St Martin in the Fields and The Iceni Ensemble. Premier venues include Covent Garden, St John’s Smith Square and playing on BBC Radio4.

They have entertained royalty: Her Majesty the Queen & The Duke of Edinburgh, The Princess Royal, played for world famous musicians: Sir Colin Davis, Yo Yo Ma, Lang Lang, Julian Lloyd Webber, TV stars: Jo Brand, Rich Hall, Lloyd Grossman, Alstair Cook, Griff Rhys Jones, and the world of Pop and Rock: The Maccabees, Pixie Lott, Razorlight.

Weddings
Much of their work is playing for weddings and they pride themselves on an attention to detail that can be the key to providing the perfect atmosphere. The bride and groom are encouraged to choose their favourite music from the extensive repertoire and guidance is given as to what music will best suit if required.

The Orwell quartet can play for the ceremony and drinks reception or through the wedding breakfast with music covering Baroque, Classical, Show, TV and film themes as well as rock and pop!

Parties and corporate events provide another outlet for their excellent music with clients and venues including: AUDI UK, Pearson Longman, The White Company, Aldeburh Music, Colchester Castle, Informa UK, Crusaid, University of Essex, Jimmy’s Farm etc.

There was a moment where I found myself at the top of the stairs from the house, looking out on the packed garden with ‘Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’ wafting up from below and I was almost overcome with the emotion of it all. You four really are absolutely brilliant, not only do you play beautifully but you looked fantastic as well, your outfits were really striking and stylish and you had such a great rapport.
