Status Cymbal is the String Quartet with a difference. Their approach to popular music is refreshing and adventurous.

Acknowledged as the UKs foremost ‘Crossover’ string quartet their unrivalled library extends from Bach to Rock via Strauss, Gershwin, Bernstein, Duke Ellington, The Beatles, The Carpenters, Led Zepelin and Queen to name but a few.

As successful free-lance performers, each member of the quartet brings a wealth & variety of classical experience extending from performing with world renowned symphony orchestras including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestras, CBSO & National Symphony Orchestra as well as touring, at home and abroad with opera and ballet companies like the English National Ballet, Welsh National Opera and English Touring Opera.

Status Cymbal members have supported some of the world’s most foremost Classical artists such as: Russell Watson, Katherine Jenkins, Andrea Bocelli and Michael Ball.

Weddings
Having now performed at over 1600 weddings since the group was formed, STATUS CYMBAL has the experience and expertise to provide for so important an event. They understand that this is your special day, and that their music will add that finishing touch to create the perfect atmosphere of a truly wonderful occasion.
Their uniquely extensive repertoire stretches from Vivaldi to the Verve. An entirely classical approach is often popular, as is a preference for completely modern pop and rock music. A mixture of all styles, from Baroque through Opera, Jazz and Musicals to recent hits is also available.

Status Cymbal have performed at many of the major UK wedding venues, including prestigious hotels such as the Ritz and Claridges, as well as a considerable number of countrywide stately homes.

Corporate Entertainment
As one of the UK’s busiest and most sought-after professional quartets, STATUS CYMBAL has provided music for functions in venues including Althorp, Claridges, the London Ritz, Highclere Castle and Pinewood Studios where guest lists have included the Princess Royal, Cleo Laine, Lord Sainsbury, Pavarotti, Bob Geldof, Keith Richards, Steve Redgrave, David Gower and Boy George. The UK premiere of the Hollywood movie The Royal Tenenbaums, the re-launches of O2 and Audos, the corporate event organisers, as well as the magazine Men’s Health’s search for a new cover model all saw STATUS CYMBAL providing the music.

International
STATUS CYMBAL are regularly contracted to cruise ships and these have included: Holland-America’s MS Noordam, MS Caronia, Adonia, Aurora and Arcadia.
