The Mirage String Quartet are a professional female quartet and have been playing together since 1994.
The string quartet has now gained a fine reputation throughout the North of England, where they are based. All four are or have been members of the orchestra of Opera North, the English Northern Philharmonia, and have studied at major conservatoires in Britain. Their versatile experience as players encompasses the classical and popular worlds.
They have played to great acclaim at prestigious venues throughout the North of England including the official opening of Harvey Nichols alongside singer, kd lang. They have also played to many well-known state dignitaries including Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev and at the official opening of the Lowry Theatre, Manchester, in the presence of Her Majesty the Queen.
The quartet can also do music arrangements for functions when requested. They can provide a singer or trumpeter if required and are continually expanding their repertoire of classical and light music for all tastes.
They are also in great demand as teachers, chamber musicians and as soloists. Between them, the quartet have played in some of the finest orchestras in Britain, including the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Camerata Ireland, the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, the Northern Sinfonia, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra, the Halle, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and numerous others.
