THE SECRET POLICE have been together six years. Formed after the two brothers put an advert in a local paper saying ".. Desperately seeking Sting .." and meeting another Police worshipper who even sounded like Sting and played the bass too. All the boys have been involved in bands for years and years and actually formed the band so that they could play stuff they really loved and have fun doing it. This has meant that every performance the band do is for the sheer fun of it and this is picked up by the audience so that everyone has a ball.
In the last six years the band have played all over the country to audiences of up to several thousand, they have also toured five times in Ireland, spent a week in sunny Spain, had trips to Holland, Dubai and Oman. They have had television appearances and many radio broadcasts and interview sessions.
One thing the band are particularly proud of is their endorsement by the official Sting and Police Fan Club, Outlandos. The band have close contacts with the club members and have played at club gatherings including a special show in London coinciding with Sting's appearance at The Albert Hall which was attended by Police fan clubs from all over Europe, USA and Japan. There are other Police tribute bands out there but The Secret Police are the choice of the real Police fans.
The Secret Police released their live album, Regatta Copycatta, in 1999 and have sold copies all over the world through their website as well as at their live performances. In addition theband have an E.P. available with their own original songs which have been favourably compared to The Police and which attracted interest from record companies including Sony USA.
As long as there are people who love the songs of The Police, The Secret Police will be out there to entertain them with their uncannily accurate tribute show.
