The Silver Beatles
Based in Hampshire - 5pc - Tribute - From £1300
The Silver Beatles play concerts as authentically as possible to recreate the sound and look of The Beatles live shows.
The band’s spectacular performances have even been remarked upon by Cynthia Lennon herself, who is quoted as saying that The Silver Beatles are “lookalike, soundalike and even thinkalike -it’s uncanny!”
The band has worked with several all-time sixties favourites such as “The Quarrymen”, Denny Laine, “The Merseybeats” and Pete Best (the original Beatles’ drummer). They have also shared the bill with the retro/kitsch “Mike Flowers Pops” and played to the likes of Robbie Williams, Madonna and the “All-Saints” at the after-show party for the 1998 “M.T.V. Music Awards” in Milan.
Maybe this confirms why the band was voted number two amongst the most popular Beatles’ tribute bands in the World by the music magazine MOJO (Oct ’97). As lookalikes “The Silver Beatles” have shared a lens with the supermodel Linda Evangelista (no less!) and have appeared in photo-shoots for the magazines, “Vogue” and “Brides”.
The Silver Beatles cater for all types of events including conventions, corporate and private functions and have played various Universities throughout the U.K. where they attract quite a Student following. With the aid of stage backdrops, wigs, specially tailored suits and all the original sixties equipment, (including Vox amplifiers and period guitars), “The Silver Beatles” will give you an evening that appeals to all generations -creating an atmosphere that will certainly have you coming away feeling thirty years younger – if that’s possible!
Cover bands are big business these days, but this quartet are clearly a cut above most with suits, mop-tops and jerking stage manoeuvres all in place as they blast out “From Me To You”, “Roll Over Beethoven” and “Please, Please Me” with note-perfect aplomb.
The-Know-The-North waistcoats and fab-gear winsomeness were flawless, The Silver Beatles captured that same ramshackle grandeur. A thirty-minute set of early material in front of a Cavern backdrop earned a rapturous ovation and rightly so -These boys will go far.
Over the past couple of days I have received many cards, emails and telephone calls congratulating us on such a wonderfully successful evening on Saturday at Lulworth Castle. What an absolutely brilliant event professionally supported by quality entertainment.
