Based in London - 3 Piece - Steel Bands - From £550
Tropical Heatwave is a unique music ensemble made up of highly skilled artists from across the Caribbean region.
Tropical Heatwave is available in various combinations to fit most budgets and venues and represents some of the finest Caribbean entertainment available in the UK.
Caribbean party band- 3,4,5 or 6 piece. The bands speciality! This will transport you musically across the Caribbean and back in one night in one show. The type of quality group that audiences would party to at any of the top hotels and venues. They play a steamy mix of dance hall Soca (the party jam that gets the audience to do the popular carnival dances led by the band), plus Calypso hits; Samba, Bossa Nova, Rumba, Merengue, some funky Reggae plus a spoonful of Salsa and a sprinkling of Caribbean Jazz, all topped with vocals and harmonies.
Acoustic all steelpan- 3 or 4 piece. Ideal for non intrusive/background music, which will “magic carpet” an audience away to the palm fringed shores of an exotic Caribbean idyll. Although there are no vocals, the band produces the authentic sounds of “sweet pan” from a bunch of genuinely nice guys with a lot of experience in pan. With repertoire ranging from Caribbean standards and saucy Calypso, to Merengue and Samba to hot’n’spicy Rumba, this is the perfect accompaniment to any intimate soiree.
Limbo dancing – Tropical Heatwave can also provide their own Limbo poles! Audience participation means that this is guaranteed to get the timid and the bold on to the dance floor for some fun-filled Limbo dancing!!!
Tropical Heatwave is fully self-contained with adequate PA, mic’s, stage lighting pack, Caribbean backdrops and other decorations to “tropicalise” the stage area. The line-up includes steelpans, bass, keyboards, percussion (congas, bongos, djembe) and assorted shakers which are handed out among the audience with an invitation to “join the band”.
The Prince and Princess of Wales invited Tropical Heatwave to Kensington Palace where they received a commendation as ambassadors for Caribbean music.
Hi Steve, we would like you to know that we all had a great night with Topical Heatwave, this was the first time we have moved away from 60-70 bands and Tribute Acts and it turned out to be one of our best attended nights since we started up 5 years ago.
So thank you for your help in arranging this event.
I feel I must write to inform you of the success of the above function, which was due in no small part to the quality of the entertainment on the night. To impress a “Squaddie” audience takes some doing and I received only positive remarks about Tropical Heatwave. Tropical Heatwave made the night.
Dear Geddes, Karen has telephoned to say what a fantastic night it was for everybody and how pleased she was with you guys and the way everything went on the night. Especially the Limbo Dancing session!! This type of professionalism is most appreciated. Many thanks.
My first experience of a live steel band was listening to “Tropical Heatwave” on board P & O cruise ship Ventura. And what an experience!!
