The Aurora harp and flute Duo – professional musicians for weddings, ceremonies, receptions and parties in the South of England.

This is a successful, award winning Harp and Flute duo that has toured throughout the UK and Europe as well as appearing as guest recitalists on Olson Cruise lines to the Azores. The duo also play for weddings, receptions and corporate events and have a wide repertoire of Classical, light jazz and pop. Aurora Harp & Flute duo can tailor the music to any event.

The Aurora Duo have been working together since the year 2000. Kate Ham, harpist and Dawn Durrant, flautist studied under renowned soloists Sioned Williams and Wissam Boustany at Trinity College of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London winning the Trinity College of Music Gold Medal, the UK Harp Association Prize and the Croydon Music Festival Concerto Prize.

Finalists of the “Gaetano Zinetti” International Chamber Music Competition and recommended artists for the Making Music “Young Concert Artist Award”, they have performed extensively and to great acclaim throughout the UK and Europe. They are much in demand with various orchestras, having performed the Mozart Flute and Harp Concerto in London, Birmingham and Glasgow. As guest artists on board the Fred Olsen Cruise Liners they gave performances in Norway, Portugal, The Azores and the Scilly Isles as well as holding residencies for over 5 years in the UK at The Landmark Hotel, London and The Sofitel Hotel, London

As orchestral players they have worked with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the Ulster Orchestra. The Aurora Duo are particularly interested in outreach and community music work. Dawn is a specialist Music Therapy Practitioner and Kate is the founder of ‘TWANG!’ a fun music making project endorsed by Hampshire Music Edcuation Hub, using lap harp to teach the primary music curriculum.
