Kate Ham is a professional harpist available as a soloist or as part of Aurora Flute and Harp Duo.

Kate started her musical journey playing the harp at 7 years of age, going on to become the youngest junior to attend the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama.The National Youth Orchestra of Scotland was the next stop and then a move to London to study at Trinity College of Music with the principal harpist of the BBC Symphony Sioned Williams. Acolades at this point include the UK Harp Association prize & the Croydon Concerto Music prize.

Now and in demand professional harpist, Kate appears as an orchestral player, Chamber musician and soloist performing throughout the UK. Venues include The Royal Festival Hall, Royal Opera House, Royal Albert Hall. Regular orchestral work sees Kate with The Ulster Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony and Norways’ Trondheim Symphony Orchestra.

Kate also works as a session musician and has played with Pop band McFly on their Wonderland arena tour of UK and Ireland, also recording the DVD with them. She has appeared on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ with Andrea Bocelli and Katherine Jenkins and recorded with everything from Jazz to Pop.

Weddings and functions also appear in her calendar at notable venues such as The Ritz, The Dorchester, Highclere Castle, The Natural History Museum, The lanesborough and many more. Kate was also resident harpist at the St James’ Sofitel Hotel Piccadilly for five years.

THE AURORA DUO
This is a successful, award winning Harp and Flute duo that has toured throughout the UK and Europe as well as appearing as guest recitalists on Olson Cruise lines to the Azores.

The duo also play for weddings, receptions and corporate events and have a wide repertoire of Classical, light jazz and pop. Kate and Dawn are very experienced professional musicians and can tailor the music to any event.
