Mark Barnwell is a Flamenco, Spanish, Latin Guitarist, who also records, produces and composes his own music.

After studying Classical guitar from an early age, Mark turned his hand to the pop/rock scene, and played with a variety of outfits from rock to funk, in a variety of places from Cornwall to Australia.

Having being inspired by a local Flamenco concert in 2000, Mark diversified into the exciting and dynamic world of Flamenco Guitar, studying with South West virtuoso Jon Salfield and the UK’s number 1 Flamenco teacher, Rafael.

Music for that special occasion
He’s an ideal choice for a wide variety of occasions, including weddings, dinner parties and many informal gatherings likely to appreciate this kind of music. Mark also plays in a Latin/Spanish guitar duo, called “Esperanto” Recently, Mark has finished recording a CD called “Passionata”, collaborating with other musicians.

Styles and influences:
“Live, I like to provide a good mix of musical styles, so that everyone will hopefully appreciate some of the pieces I play. My repertoire varies from Classical guitar standards, such as Romance and Asturias, through interpretations of contemporary music, including many songs from the Beatles, to lively and percussive Flamenco standards, often delicately incorporating hints of Arabic and Latin influences.”

“The music I play is the ideal accompanyment for weddings, functions, restaurants and parties. Spanish and Flamenco guitar, combined with a good choice of repertoire can be the icing on the cake to make a perfect wedding day.”
