The classic string quartet comprises 2 violins, viola and cello and is a very versatile ensemble. As music is usually in four part harmony our quartets can play a wide repertoire of styles of music and sound great including Classical, Baroque, Show tunes, TV and Film music or even Pop and Rock arrangements.

Lots of couples prefer more traditional music for the ceremony so Bach, Vivaldi, Elgar, Mozart could feature here. Others go more contemporary with music from The Beatles, Jason Mraz, Pharrell Williams or Coldplay. Whatever your preference for music our String Quartets in Kent will be able to accommodate.

As string ensembles play acoustically it is easy for them to relocate to another area so many opt for a string quartet to play for the ceremony and drinks reception. The music here tends to be a mix of styles so as to please most tastes so it is not unusual to have Vivaldi’s four seasons, Elgar’s Chanson du Matin followed by a medley from The Sound of Music, Les Miserables & Wicked. Then onto ‘All You Need Is Love’ from The Beatles, ‘One Day Like’ This by Elbow, ‘Happy’ by Pharrell and Take That’s ‘Greatest Day’!

Kent String Trios

For those with limited space for live music but who still would like the sound and versatility of a string ensemble there is the option of a String Trio. Most of our Kent String Quartets offer this option where either a violin or viola omitted however the sound is still excellent. Some prefer the lighter sound of the trio and in a small room it could well be a better option. The fact that it will also be less expensive than a string quartet is another plus particularly for those on a budget. If you are unsure what would be best for your wedding we would be delighted to advise.
