Hire a Wedding String Quartet in The New Forest

A String Quartet is the most popular choice for those looking to have live music for a wedding ceremony and our New Forest String Quartets will deliver beautiful, expertly played music to delight everyone. The sound is simply amazing, and the sight and sound of violins, viola and cello playing beautiful music is something which can only add to the grandeur of the occasion.

A common misconception is that a string quartet will just play classical music however this is far from the truth. The string quartets we recommend for New Forest weddings have a wide repertoire of music which includes classical music but also arrangements of pop and rock songs as well as film & TV music, show music and even some jazz. Therefore a wedding ceremony could have music for the brides entrance from Handel, Bach, Vivaldi or Pachelbel’s Canon then for the signing of the register then When I fall I Love’ by Nat King Cole, ‘All of Me’ by John Legend and ‘Perfect Day’ by Lou Reed. For the exit how about ‘Beautiful Day’ by U2, ‘Greatest Day’ from Take That! or ‘It Musit Be Love’ from Madness.

String Quartets can also be very cost effective as not only can they play for the ceremony but they will also be perfect for the drinks reception. Our New Forest String Quartets play acoustically so they are able to relocate to another room or outside very easily. This is a time for bride and groom and guests to chat and relax before the wedding breakfast, so the volume the quartet plays at works very well, and the wide repertoire of music means there will be something for everyone.

New Forest String Trios

For those with limited space for live music but who still would like the sound and versatility of a string ensemble there is the option of a String Trio and most of our New Forest String Quartets will offer this option. The difference between the quartet and the Trio is the omission of either a violin or viola however the sound is still wonderful. The sound of the trio is a little lighter and it could well be a better option for a smaller room. The fact that it will also be less expensive than a string quartet is another plus particularly for those on a budget. If you are unsure what would be best for your wedding we would be delighted to advise.
