Fantasy- Midlands based professional Steel Band
Fantasy Steel band is a long established professional Steel band founded in 1986. Since then the band has gained recognition as being one of the finest Caribbean Steel Bands out there, playing for weddings, parties, corporate events & carnivals throughout the UK and Internationally.
The band is led by Paul Cherry and is flexible in size to cater for most events. Popular versions of the band are the 2 and 3pc bands with the 3pc being the recommended line up due to it giving the full spectrum of sound – melody, harmony, bass & percussion. Vocals can be added to this, and for dancing the addition of Bass Guitar and Drums is recommended.
The band’s instruments are Caribbean ‘Steel Pans or ‘Steel; Drums’ which originated in Trinidad & Tobago however their pans are hand made in the UK.
Fantasy Steel band has a large eclectic repertoire of music covering traditional Caribbean popular songs, Reggae, Ska as well as arrangements of contemporary pop, Disney classics and even Bollywood! The music can be tailored to each individual event and this attention to detail is particularly important for weddings.
Weddings
Steel Bands are popular for wedding receptions and particularly drinks receptions where the band evokes visions of romantic Caribbean beach settings. The tuneful lilt of steel band music provides a pleasant musical backdrop for guests to relax and enjoy themselves.
Other reasons why a Steel band works so well for weddings are:
They play acoustic so no power required
They can set up quickly
They require only little space (an area of 4m x 2m for the trio)
Volume is perfect for guests to chat over during the champagne reception of breakfast
Everyone loves the sound of a good Caribbean Steel Band!
