Versatile Jazz sax player Sarah Bolter leads a number of bands from a duo to 6 piece playing for everything from Jazz clubs, festivals to weddings, receptions and corporate events
Sarah started on her musical journey at 8 years old learning clarinet and progressing to flute saxophone and vocals. She later studied at Southampton University specialising in Jazz alto Sax and Soprano Sax obtaining a BA Mus degree. From then on the world of professional music opened up and she was in demand as a freelance musician and getting noticed as a band leader fronting her own band ‘Not Just Sax’.
The musicians Sarah works with are seasoned professionals having worked with some of the finest British jazz talent such as Andy Sheppard, Tubby Hayes, Harry Stoneham and playing at world famous Ronnie Scott’s, BBC radio broadcasts and jazz festivals.
Sarah and her band have played throughout the South of England at the Isle of Wight Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Meadow, Newport Jazz festival, Swanage Jazz Festival, Jazz on the Quay, Stompin’ on the Quomps and the iconic Bulls Head at Barnes.
Weddings and parties
Sarah can provide a number of options for these from a duo upwards. The duo is usually Sax & Piano and the trio adds Bass. Drums provide the foundation of the quartet with Guitar an option to expand to a 5 piece.
Music can be tailored to your preference from a repertoire of’ ’standards’, Great American Songbook, Swing, Latin etc.
Solo Sax
For smaller events or where budgets might not stretch to a band, Sarah can play Solo with custom recorded backing tracks.
