Lulworth Castle is an iconic wedding venue that offers dream weddings for those lucky enough to marry here, and for the last 20 years Fantasia Music has been the recommended music supplier. In that time we have provided professional music for hundreds of weddings with just about every combination and style of music you can imagine.
Situated in the Purbeck countryside on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast this stunning fairy tale castle has all the attributes for the perfect wedding venue. The castle itself is approached via a winding road through parkland and is sited between two churches, the church of St Andrew and the Roman Catholic chapel of St Mary. It is rare for a wedding venue to be situated so close to two separate churches of different denomination and this is a definite plus for many couples looking to get married here. The castle is also licensed for civil wedding ceremonies.
Lulworth Castle has two main rooms – The Saloon & The Dining Room. The ceremony and wedding breakfast can be held in either of these stunning rooms depending on the number of guests. The evening party is usually held in the other room so this can be prepared for evening entertainment without disturbing the guests.
Wedding music
For weddings in either of the two churches we have provided String Quartets and String Trios, Harp, Harp & Flute, Trumpet & Organ, Wind Ensemble, Guitarist and Singers. Music here is usually Classically based in keeping with the surroundings.
Civil ceremonies are non religious and couples have often opted for a more laid back style of music such as Jazz, Steel Band, Solo Sax or even on one occasion a Mariachi Band! The Classical option however remains the most popular music for wedding for ceremonies and in particular the String Trio & String Quartet . We have the best Dorset String Quartets for weddings and receptions and there will be one to suit your preference for style, music and budget! Harpists are also very popular as well as Harp and Flute Duos and not forgetting Guitarists of course.
Drinks reception
Following the ceremony the drinks reception takes place either in the castle or outside in the grounds if weather permits. For this element of the celebrations couples tend to be a little more creative with jazz bands, Roaming Acoustic Bands, Steel Bands, Latin Trios & Gypsy Jazz. String music is also popular here because they can play a mix of styles including lighter music from Film & TV along with arrangements or Pop/rock etc.
Evening Party
Most weddings are set up with the evening party held in The Saloon. This room is perfect for entertaining as it has a stage area so your band or discotheque are elevated and out of the way leaving a large area for dancing. The Saloon looks beautiful at night and with a live band on stage playing to a full dance floor the atmosphere is electric!
Bands we have provided here cover most styles and size of band however Pop & Rock Bands are the most popular choice of band for weddings at Lulworth Castle. These can vary in size from 3pc upwards so there is bound to be an option here to suit your budget. Other popular bands include Jazz Swing bands, Ceilidh bands, Motown bands, Brazilian bands, Salsa bands, Caribbean bands, 1920s bands, Rock n Roll bands and of course professional discotheques with stunning lighting. At this time of writing there are ongoing limitations regarding numbers at weddings as well as restrictions on how and where musicians can perform.
